About Me

Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom
I have been crafting since May 2008, when in desperation to find an unusual birthday card for my Mum, I gave up looking in the shops and decided to have a go at making my own. I soon realised that crafting is addictive and I haven't brought a card since. In 2011 I completed my certificate in papercrafting as a result of the work I did as part of the course I started entering challenges on line and in magazines. I applied for design teams and also started making samples for Ooh La La Creations for their shows on Create and Craft. I have now completed my Diploma in professional crafting and most recently been runner up in the Papercrafter of the Year 2013 a competition run by Papercraft essentials magazine, I don't have a particular style I like to use elements from lots of styles and techniques, although I do love all things vintage. In 2014 I started to move more towards scrapbooking to take care of the huge family archive of photographs that were stored in my attic. I have continued cardmaking and Scrapbooking through 2015 and 2016 but have also become interested in off the page projects. I hope to be able focus on these in the future.

OLL DT If the Shoe fits.

Hello everyone hope you all had a great weekend and it's time for a new challenge over at Ooh La La Creations. Thanks to everyone who entered the Teddy Bear Antics Challenge and congratulations to the winners you can see them over at the challenge blog. The theme this time is if the shoe fits and I have used a card that I created for a friends sisters birthday. I was told that she loved shopping, flowers and shoes and the colours red and turquoise. Here is the finished result.

The image is called Red Hibiscus and is from the Shoes in Bloom CD, I decided that as the image itself was so striking to work with colour blocks rather than patterned papers. The image is a decoupage sheet and I printed it on glossy paper to really make it 'pop' also by fussy cutting around the decoupaged image I was able to mount it on black mirror card to make it stand out. The white panel behind the image is just plain white paper that was cut into strips and edged using a Martha Stewart doily edge punch before being layered up to make the panel. I used two flowers from the decoupage sheet as embellishments and added feathers and pearls. Finally the sentiments were just computer generated and mounted onto red mirror card.

My friend has since told me that her sister loved the card and commented that I had 'got her to a tee' with the design.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

If You go down to the woods OLL DT Teddy Bear Antics

By the time you all read this I will be back home after attending my 15th consecutive Annual Beatles Convention in Liverpool. I know I will have no voice from all the singing and chatting with friends Old and New and I will be a bit cranky from lack of sleep, but I will have also had another fabulous week celebrating the musical legacy in the City where it all started.

Thanks to everyone who entered our 'All at Sea' Challenge and congratulations to the winners you can see them over at the Ooh La La Creations Challenge Blog. This time we have gone cuddly with the theme of  'Teddy Bear Antics' and here is my card.

The lovely image of teddies raking up the leaves is from the Ooh La La creations 'Boys to Men' CD as are all the papers used. I really love the effect of the page curl paper when it is used on an easel card. The rosettes were just folded from strips of one of the backing papers and finished off with a couple of stamped sentiments. I finished off with a flower and some orange Berries and here it is.

I am entering this card in the following Challenges
