About Me

My photo
Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom
I have been crafting since May 2008, when in desperation to find an unusual birthday card for my Mum, I gave up looking in the shops and decided to have a go at making my own. I soon realised that crafting is addictive and I haven't brought a card since. In 2011 I completed my certificate in papercrafting as a result of the work I did as part of the course I started entering challenges on line and in magazines. I applied for design teams and also started making samples for Ooh La La Creations for their shows on Create and Craft. I have now completed my Diploma in professional crafting and most recently been runner up in the Papercrafter of the Year 2013 a competition run by Papercraft essentials magazine, I don't have a particular style I like to use elements from lots of styles and techniques, although I do love all things vintage. In 2014 I started to move more towards scrapbooking to take care of the huge family archive of photographs that were stored in my attic. I have continued cardmaking and Scrapbooking through 2015 and 2016 but have also become interested in off the page projects. I hope to be able focus on these in the future.

All that Glitters at Ooh La La Creations

Good morning everyone in blog land. Firstly thank you for entering our Happy Birthday challenge at Ooh La La Creations there were some stunning cards. To check to see if you were in the top three pop over to the  Ooh La La Creations Challenge blog.

The theme for the next two weeks is...

All That Glitters.

So get out your glitter and gems and show us your creations.

I used an image and backing papers from the Shawn Jenkins collection to purchase a copy of the CD click on the image below.

I printed off the backing paper and mounted it on purple glitter card then wrapped glittery silver ribbon around a contrasting strip of backing paper and stuck this across the middle. I then added self adhesive lace from do crafts over the ribbon to tone it down slightly.

I added the words With Love to the image before printing it off and mounted it on the same purple glitter card before adding it to the card. I added the glitter gems and used stickles glitter glue on the large flowers in the image.

from the scraps of purple glitter card I cut the large flower using a 'Tattered Lace' Trio die. he small purple flowers were cut and embossed using a Sheen Douglass 'Sweet William' die. I also cut some vellum flowers and some leaves using 'Tattered Lace' trios and layered the flowers up before adding the gem centres. The little silver birds and the silver flourishes were from my die cut box - They were all one piece but had been bent in the centre so I snipped away the damaged part and cut the rest up to make the flourishes and birds.

I am entering this card in the following Challenges
