About Me

My photo
Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom
I have been crafting since May 2008, when in desperation to find an unusual birthday card for my Mum, I gave up looking in the shops and decided to have a go at making my own. I soon realised that crafting is addictive and I haven't brought a card since. In 2011 I completed my certificate in papercrafting as a result of the work I did as part of the course I started entering challenges on line and in magazines. I applied for design teams and also started making samples for Ooh La La Creations for their shows on Create and Craft. I have now completed my Diploma in professional crafting and most recently been runner up in the Papercrafter of the Year 2013 a competition run by Papercraft essentials magazine, I don't have a particular style I like to use elements from lots of styles and techniques, although I do love all things vintage. In 2014 I started to move more towards scrapbooking to take care of the huge family archive of photographs that were stored in my attic. I have continued cardmaking and Scrapbooking through 2015 and 2016 but have also become interested in off the page projects. I hope to be able focus on these in the future.

Twenty Third and final entry

So here it is the twenty third and final entry in the  ongoing Through The Purple Haze weekly challenges. I have had such a fun time coming up with a new design each week for the Massive challenge set by Anita Blake and her Design teams on the challenge blog. It feels sort of sad that today sees the final project for this particular set of challenges. Sponsored by Penny Black I have used their Peace and Joy clear stamp set and their cutting die Peace to create a CAS style card.

Something of a departure for me as it is plain to see on the rest of my blog  I love my embellishments. So here it is.

I stamped the image of  the dove with poinsettias 3 times using versafine ink and coloured the poinsettias using promarkers in berry red, poppy, and ruby, for the flowers and Forest and Holly green for the leaves. the centre were coloured with sunflower, I coloured the 'pearl frame using a sakura sparkle pen. I left the dove on the main image uncoloured and cut out a second dove which I also left uncoloured and stuck it over the image using gel glue to give some height. The third dove I added cool grey 1 highlights to the feathers and edged the wings tail and tummy with stickles rock candy dry glitter. I embossed a square of centura pearl hint of gold card  in an interlocking circles embossing folder by Sue Wilson and matted this onto a dark green centura pearl paper which I trimmed to leave a really narrow border,

I added the dove motif and the die cut word which was also cut from centura pearl card and coloured using a forest green promarker . and here is my take on a CAS type card.

I am entering this card into the following challenge
