About Me

My photo
Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom
I have been crafting since May 2008, when in desperation to find an unusual birthday card for my Mum, I gave up looking in the shops and decided to have a go at making my own. I soon realised that crafting is addictive and I haven't brought a card since. In 2011 I completed my certificate in papercrafting as a result of the work I did as part of the course I started entering challenges on line and in magazines. I applied for design teams and also started making samples for Ooh La La Creations for their shows on Create and Craft. I have now completed my Diploma in professional crafting and most recently been runner up in the Papercrafter of the Year 2013 a competition run by Papercraft essentials magazine, I don't have a particular style I like to use elements from lots of styles and techniques, although I do love all things vintage. In 2014 I started to move more towards scrapbooking to take care of the huge family archive of photographs that were stored in my attic. I have continued cardmaking and Scrapbooking through 2015 and 2016 but have also become interested in off the page projects. I hope to be able focus on these in the future.

Through the window

Having worked the whole of last weekend and had my normal travel arrangements severely disrupted ( I live just up the road from Aintree racecourse and the traffic is complete chaos during the weekend of the Grand National). I am a little late getting to my offering for this weeks challenge at CD Sunday, mainly because of having enough light when I get home from work to take the photograph. So I improvised and took it into work today and took the pictures in our rest room at lunchtime.

So here is my offering for the Challenge through the window

I used the Ooh La La Everyday Occasions CD, and the image is from the folder 'Mothers' I printed it onto card and also cropped the image of the bird from one of the matching backing papers and then die cut it using a Sizzix inverted scalloped circles die and mounted it onto a piece of pale blue card cut using the corresponding plain circle die. The woven effect backing paper the little tag and the white flowery paper are also from the same folder. I wrapped lace which had been threaded with pink organza ribbon around the woven effect backing paper before sticking to a 6x6 card blank then stuck a tiny piece of iridescent net from a girls hair bobble at the back of the die cut circle before adding to the lace. I added a bow at the top of the lace and hung a silver heart charm from it. The main image was placed at an angle and I added paper flowers that I had coloured with artists chalk and fixed with hairspray before joining together with pearly brads. I added some die cut leaves that I had left over from another project another small piece of the net and the tag.

The inside was decorated with pretty pink heart paper to match.

I am entering this into the following challenges.
