Spring into Easter at Ooh La La Creations

Hello everyone out there in blog land.

Once again we had some wonderful entries for the 'She's in Fashion Challenge' to see if you made the top three check out the Ooh La La Creations Challenge Blog

The challenge for the next fortnight has the focus firmly on the season as it is 

Spring or Easter

I have used the Shoes in Bloom CD to create this seasonal card.

Nothing heralds the arrival of Spring quite like Daffodils so when I found this gorgeous waterfall mechanism on the CD I just had to use it. I used the matching backing papers from the CD and added a pretty yellow and bright green satin ribbon.

I finished off by cutting the word 'Spring' out of a metallic satin card, and added some paper clay flowers and pearl stick pins.

Having had the CD to work with to prepare samples for the launch show I have to say the images from Paula Oakley are amazing and there is something for everyone and every occasion on the CD.

She's in Fashion at Ooh La La Creations

Hello fellow bloggers. Firstly thank you to all those who entered our last challenge of 'Lots of Folds' there were some gorgeous projects and some really interesting folds submitted. To see if you have made the top three please check out the Ooh La La Creations Challenge blog.

The challenge for the next two weeks is....

 'She's in Fashion'

I used an image and papers from the 'Femme Fatale' CD 

The background paper was made by taking a sample from one of the papers in the ATC section of the CD and then using the tile command on My Craft Studio to expand it to a full 8x8 paper. I matted this onto black card stock before attaching it to my base card. I then added a panel from the bonus papers lace folder, which had also been mounted on black card stock.

I printed two copies of the topper and matted one on black card stock, and just cut the hat from the other which I then layered onto the original image to add depth.

The black flowers were fussy cut from another of the lace paper designs and I added sparkly centres. Two die cut feathers cut from black gloss card stock and two stick pins I made from recycled charity shop jewellery finds and a small piece of net (from a net bag that contained the chestnuts we used at Christmas) complete the embellishments.

The sentiment was printed onto a background that I had sampled from the sleeve of the dress on the main image.

Inside the card I added two panels of lace paper from the bonus paper CD and a scalloped circle die cut bearing the happy birthday greeting.

Lots of folds at Ooh La La creations

Hello everyone, firstly we had some absolutely fabulous entries for the 'Add something Green' Challenge over at Ooh La La Creations last time. To see if you have made our top 3 please check the challenge blog.

The theme for the next fortnight is ...

'Lots of Folds'

For my design team card I used images and papers from both 

and 

Rather than going with fancy folds on the card shape I went for paper folding on my card 

I folded a piece of A4 card to make an asymmetric card blank and then cut an aperture in the front flap.

I folded a piece of A4 paper which had been scored at one inch and half inch intervals to make a pleated 'curtain and stuck this over the aperture and then added thin frames cut out of black card.

I cut the tailor's dummy from kraft card and cut another from the black and white spotted paper which is from the 'Faithful Friends' CD. I trimmed the paper to fit the 'bodice' part of the dummy and then added a pleated skirt folded from a scalloped circle.

I trimmed the dress with lace, pearls and gems.

I added the sentiment and bow on the front with a few gems to finish.

Inside the card I added the DL insert from the 'dance petticoat' folder from the 'Shoes in Bloom' CD and also fussy cut one of the topper images to add to the bottom corner.

I added a panel to the back of the aperture to write a greeting on. 

I finished teh back with another scalloped circle and a topper that I had trimmed with a plain circle die.
